Hiriketiya Beach (near Dawella) is a unique bay in the south of Ceylon. This extraordinary bay offers white sand, turquise water, perfect surf waves for beginners and intermediates, hidden beach bungalows and bars run by locals. A place you definitely should not miss when in Sri Lanka.

Ahangana Beach is one of the cleanest and most natural beaches in the south of Sri Lanka. Especially the area around the little beach bar/restaurant »follow the white rabbit« is our secret tip.
After 3 minutes by scooter or tuk tuk (southside) you arrive at Kabalena beach where you can enjoy epic sunsets and go surfing.

Coconut Beach near Midigama is a white sand paradise, not crowded, palmtrees that scrap the sky and many places to surf - riff break and sand break. (15 minutes by scooter or tuk tuk from Ahangama.)

Weligama ... especially the Secreate Jungle Beach is our number one insider tip for the south coast of Sri Lanka. 5 minutes away from Weligama you find this tiny bay with two little beach bars run by locals and a surf school. Perfect surf spot for intermediates and pro surfers PLUS one of the most romantic sunset spots - with a great view over the big rock where luxury bungalow resort »Cape Weligama« is located. If you have time, dress up and go for a cocktail at this 5 stars hotel. It's worth a little trip to fancy heaven.

Unuwatuna beach is one of the most famous beaches of Sri Lanka and obviously more crowded. We recommend to head there for sunset with a bottle of wine aftter most of the tourists are gone. pssst ... you find the well known hanging palmtrees there to take some swing shots.
